Chrissy Weems is a passionate interior designer and successful female entrepreneur based in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the CEO of a jewelry outfit, Origami Owl. The mother of 5 children works alongside her highly driven daughter, Bella Weems. Chrissy and Bella put their efforts together to establish the jewelry store on a Black Friday in 2010. The business began as a small kiosk in a mall. Bella has always been a great inspiration to Chrissy. The mother recalls Bella saving money to buy her very own used car at the tender age of 14. Bella’s dream became a reality two years later.

She attributes the company success to a positive mission of motivating people of all ages to achieve their goals and make a difference to the society. Chrissy has overcome a lot of business challenges by understanding the importance of inventory management.

As part of a program to support youth empowerment, the company has established the Owlette program that encourages youths under age 17 from the US and Canada to start a business and make money. The Chrissy Weems Scholarship

A university or college scholarship can help offset various education expenses ranging from college tuition to the living cost. The $1,000 Chrissy Weems Scholarship was ostensibly established to support the education of up and coming entrepreneurs and business owners. Drawing from her life experience, Chrissy knows how easy young talents can be wasted if not nurtured to full potential. The scholarship is open to high school seniors in the process of joining college or university. Students already enrolled in institutions of higher learning are also encouraged to apply. The winner of the award must certify the requirements issued by the scholarship panel.

To enter, students need to submit a 500 word essay on the selected topic. When submitting the essay, applicants must fill the online form with the requested information to give Chrissy the express permission to use the winner’s name and essay for promotional purposes. The submission deadline for the latest round of scholarship is February 28, 2019. The winner will be selected in March 2019 by the scholarship committee. Once the winner is chosen, he or she is given two weeks to respond. The acknowledgement will facilitate the issuance of the education scholarship to the appointed school. The scholarship is offered on an annual basis.
